All Things Go Premieres mxmtoon

mxmtoon, the stunning project of Oakland-based Maia, brings her ukulele playing, folk-enriched style, and personal story to life in her new single "i feel like chet."

All Things Go says, "Armed with just a ukelele and her voice, mxmtoon is turning a lot of heads. The 18-year-old Oakland artist has been creating enchanting bedroom-folk singles since 2017. Today she keeps things going with "i feel like chet," an ode to legendary jazz trumpeter Chet Baker."

C-Heads Premieres Tanners

“Sometimes you get the best of both worlds.

Brooklyn-based indie pop artist Tanners is living proof. Mixing the psychedelic rock flair of indie greats like Tame Impala with pop vocal melodies of stars like Lana Del Rey, the New Yorker by way of Tennessee has just emerged with her debut EP. The current single, “This Crazy” swirls with synths, but cuts with real drums, and is the singer’s coming to terms with the inevitable phase of being reckless and young.” - C-Heads

Tofer Dolan Releases "Baby Daddy"

Looking for the a good-ol summer bop? Look no further. Tofer Dolan's "Baby Daddy," twists the typical elements of pop-music into a Picasso-esque, surrealist experience.

NPR Premieres Saba Abraha

Ethiopian songstress Saba Abraha continues to get us excited for the release of her forthcoming EP with her sultry, cool, and r&b-tinged sound. Enter new single "Do's & Dont's".

NPR gives an in-depth look at the track and says, "Abraha's inspirations range from Missy Elliott to Corinne Bailey Rae for, as she puts it, 'their unique approach and unwillingness to stray from their truth.' The singer employs the same sense of fearlessness with this single. These dark hues and knowing vocals of 'Do's and Dont's' serve as the foundation for the artist's forthcoming sophomore EP, due out later this year, and will help to settle the dust of a dizzied subconscious with each replay."

Jimmy Keeps it Real with "Smile"

Jimmy intrigued us with his self-titled debut track, "Jimmy," and now he's here with his newest single, "Smile."  "Smile" feels like wandering into a misty dream. An almost eerie soundscape, "Smile" is as dark as it is vulnerable and sets the groundwork for Jimmy's commentary. He explains, "I tried to throw myself into the fucked-up dream that is the opioid epidemic in the United States and capture what I could of its hazy and ironically self-destructive fantasy."

Imperfect Fifth says, "Ever-impressed by the incredible talent that is Jimmy, we are delighted to share his new haunting and dark single "Smile"...It displays the power of connection, as listeners relate to the same feelings of powerlessness in a corporate world."

Give it a listen!

Earmilk premieres Superheart

Superheart is back again and does not disappoint. Gifting us with his new track, "Satellite," Superheart continues to set himself apart in the indie-electronic world and this track is exactly what you've been missing.

Earmilk says, "'Satellite' by Superheart is beautifully crafted single and finale to a series that is as beautiful as its artwork. Superheart with a style reminiscent of Teen Daze and Tycho opens the song with bubbling electronic synthesizers that evoke a feeling of Spring in the 80's. As the vocals are layered in with the flowing synths a soundscape is created that in my mind transports me to the middle of Central Park midday as the sun peaks out from being behind the clouds."

The Big Takeover premieres Flagship

Irresistible indie-rock duo, Flagship just released their new track "Philadelphia Babe," and we can't get this one out of our heads. Their upcoming EP, The Ladder, will be out this April.

The Big Takeover says, "There's an undying energy in this track as the buoyant soundscape engulfs you. Drake Margolnick (vocals, guitar) and Michael Finster (drums) have a knack for making meaningful, powerful, and dynamic tracks that meld the best features of indie rock and folk music."

Superheart on The 405

Superheart released a new track - and we couldn't be more excited. Head on over to The 405 for an exclusive look at the new track!

If there was one way to describe how Superheart's music makes you feel, then it would feel like the warmth of being wrapped in a blanket and reminiscing on the best times of your life. Amidst the warm tropical sounds, the groovy guitar licks, and the heart-filling vocals, Superheart delivers a track that is powerful but doesn't try too hard. "After Midnight" is the result and he gets it completely right.

Shiffley on Impose

The indie-rock foursome, Shiffley, shift from the bouncy energy of their previous track and bring us the rolling "Drawing Skulls." A moodier and darker soundscape sets the tone for this track, but Shiffley incorporates a playful twist into the instrumentation, making for another killer track. By paving their own path in the indie rock world, Shiffley reminds us that "you can do the things you want to do."

Impose  says, "'Drawing Skulls' exudes that anxious wanderlust...The platforms of didactic are dismantled for a moment of enthusiastic elation as Shiffley exhibits a new & refreshing energy..."
